| “Art for Art’s Sake”
Visconti, of Firenze, Italy, was
founded in 1988 by two avid
antique writing instrument
collectors whose goal was to
produce and market celluloid
fountain pens. Celluloid had
been abandoned for over
thirty years by the established
brands but continued to be in
demand by serious
collectors.
After persuading one of the
oldest companies to resume
production of celluloid, the
enthusiastic owners found
their own machinery and put
together a team of artisans
with varied experience, who,
out of pure love for fountain
pens, applied their talents to
the various phases of
handcrafting celluloid.
Today, after years of
experience in the making of
celluloid, Visconti is the
largest celluloid pen factory
worldwide and offers its
services and experience to
anybody who wishes to
produce pens with the
material. They have extended
their expertise to ebonite,
acrylics, lucite, antique ivory,
and in the best Florentine
tradition, silver, gold, and
precious jewelry pens in the
use of diamonds.
Since its founding, Visconti
has employed exacting
standards of technology while
at the same time using the
most traditional techniques
and craftsmanship. You’ll love
their attention to detail.
Visconti pens carry a limited
five-year warranty. |
